Botox In The Service of Your Smile & Comfort

Enjoy Your Smile
With Comfort

At Boréal Dental Centre, we believe a beautiful smile doesn’t stop at teeth. Facial harmony and muscular well-being are essential to complete oral health. That’s why we integrate botulinum toxin injections (Botox®) both for aesthetic and therapeutic purposes.

It’s natural to wonder why you’d see a dentist for injections. The answer is our training:

Mastery of Facial Anatomy: No other health professional studies the face, facial muscles, and nerves as precisely as dentists do.

Clinical Precision: We work with millimeter-level accuracy to target the exact muscles responsible for wrinkles or pain.

Holistic Approach: We look beyond a wrinkle or symptom. We consider how bone structure, teeth, and muscles interact to create a natural, balanced result.

Aesthetic
Enhance the Frame of Your Smile

Botox is an ideal complement to aesthetic dental care (whitening, veneers, orthodontics). It refreshes the face subtly:

  • Softening wrinkles: forehead lines, frown lines (between the eyebrows), crow’s feet
  • Gummy smile: We can slightly relax the upper lip to reduce gum display when smiling
  • Facial harmony: softening features to highlight your dental results

Therapeutic
Relieve Muscle Pain (Bruxism)

Beyond aesthetics, Botox is a powerful tool for TMJ disorders and chronic tension:

  • Bruxism/clenching: injections into the masseter muscles reduce involuntary contraction, protecting teeth from wear and fracture
  • Migraine relief: jaw muscle tension often drives chronic headaches; Botox can provide lasting relaxation
  • Slimming the lower face: for patients with enlarged masseters from clenching, treatment can restore a more oval, less square shape

What to Expect at Your Appointment

Treatment is quick (about 15–30 minutes) and virtually painless thanks to ultra-fine needles. Results begin in 3–5 days, with optimal effect after two weeks. Benefits typically last 3–6 months.

Did you know? As dentists, we use local anesthetics daily. Our injection technique is known to be among the gentlest and most comfortable for patients.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Everything You Need to Know

Dentists are experts in facial anatomy. Our university training focuses on craniofacial anatomy, chewing muscles, and facial expression. We perform injections daily with surgical-level precision delivering results that are safe, natural, and symmetrical.

Most patients are surprised by how light the procedure feels. We use extremely fine needles, often comparable to a hair. Because we master anesthesia techniques and delicate tissue handling, the sensation is usually limited to a brief pinch which is far less uncomfortable than a cleaning or filling.

This is a common concern but rest assured, moderation is our goal. Because we precisely understand where each muscle originates and inserts, we target only the muscles causing wrinkles or pain without affecting your expressions. You’ll simply look more rested and relaxed.

If you clench or grind at night, your masseters are likely overactive. Injecting a small dose reduces their contraction force, helping to:

  • reduce premature tooth wear
  • reduce tension headache and migraine frequency
  • relieve pressure on the TMJ

For both aesthetics and pain treatment, effects typically last 3–4 months. Over time and with repeat treatments, muscles “learn” to relax, and results can sometimes last longer.

Side effects are minor and temporary. You may occasionally see slight redness or a small bruise at the injection site, which disappears within 24–48 hours. Because we work in a sterile clinical environment, complication risks are extremely low.

When used therapeutically (e.g., bruxism or TMJ disorders), Botox may sometimes be covered by certain dental plans. For purely aesthetic uses, it’s generally a personal investment. We will provide all documents needed for your claim.
